Why buy nut butter when you can make it at home?

Nut butters are super easy to make… you just need a good quality high speed blender or food processor and some patience…

Ingredients

  • 400gms cashew nuts
  • Pinch of salt

Method

  • First roast the nuts in the oven at 180′ for 5- 10minutes, mixing half way.
  • This helps to release the oils from the nuts.
  • Next blitz in a high speed blender…
  • Initially, the nuts will turn into a powder, scrape down the sides and persevere; eventually it turns into a smooth butter.
  • Depending on your processor, this will take between 8-10 minutes.
  • Finally add a pinch of salt, or if you fancy something different experiment with flavours… I’ve tried cinnamon & honey, maple syrup and a spicy chilli mix
